As I am sorting through Mick & Aimee's photos, I really feel the emotion of the day and the happiness of all involved. Close family and friends brought together, this is what weddings are all about. It was a relaxed morning, with the bride and groom being only a few streets apart, I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with both while Karen stayed with the girls. Both hotels had great sea views of Burleigh Heads beach and this made for an amazing setting and a great day.
As the girls finished getting ready, I took the opportunity to use my portrait skills to get some really nice shots of them, as well as the bride. After a great morning, it was time for us to head down to the ceremony at Froggy Beach, which was a very romantic setting and the scene was set for Aimee's walk down the boardwalk with her parents either side of her.
It was a fun ceremony whilst Karen & I snapped away and we really enjoyed having the ocean views for our background. We had the chance to spend some time with the bridal party and then just the bride and groom after the ceremony for a chance to get creative, which is generally a major highlight of all wedding video and photos, not just for the the couple but for us as well.
Then we headed off to the reception and quickly got the detail shots of the venue before the nights festivities began. After 14 hours of shooting and lots of fun we headed home to start the sorting process. Generally I try and get at least one shot of the couple and one of the bride to the clients straight away, so they have some professional photos to enjoy as they head of on their honeymoon.
