Dean & Tahni’s wedding was quite a journey away from our sunny side home on the gold coast. Travelling to Ballina, Ballina is a town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Their 8 hour package doing both Photo/Video our team of three were keen to get the day started by hitting the road.
Turning up at the girls apartment in Ramada Ballina, we noticed it is perfectly located within walking distance of Ballina’s CBD, a short drive from the local airport and just 20 minutes from beautiful Byron Bay, it makes a great base for either exploration or business, and a perfect place to get started on your big day before you walk down the aisle.
As we rounded to the apartment, we were greeted with the bridal crew all getting their finishing touches of hair an make up done by Hair by Laura, while Tahni was getting her own personal touch ups from hairstylist Sarah kemp and make up artist saint ella. We quickly went to setting up all the accessories and bridal dress by Hobnob Perth by getting those key snaps then we were off to capture Tahni and her crew before they walked down the aisle.
It wasn’t long before we were off to the ceremony at Ballina lighthouse. Such a great ceremony location for an outdoor wedding, with the scenery of the beach to overlook at as you’re saying your vows, with the arbour being entered down the middle of the aisle, and white chairs for the guests, we went into action mode, setting up all the tripods and key audio gear, before it was time for Tahni start her newlyweds journey. Turning up in kombi limo, a day surely now to be remembered with the luxurious dreamy cream & white Kombi experience. With Dean standing at the centre of the aisle next to their celebrant phil chapman, it was a cute ceremony, that had conjured up a few tears and laughs also from the crowd.
The photo section was around the ceremony/ reception location, as the beachside in Ballina was such a great photogenic place to use. As it was perfect weather, both sunny and not too windy we were able to get the drone up for a while, and have fun with the bridal couple, before it was off to get capture the whole party, and they were a funny bunch!
The reception was held at the lighthouse beach cafe, that was just a short walk from the beach with the amazing views as their back drop. The bridal party was getting ready to roll in soon with an afternoon prepared full of activities ranging from speeches to the very special first dance were occurring, so with the tripods set up we were ready to start the reception. Our crew went our getting some of the key shots of the reception especially designed by Coastal Events for Tahni & Dean, while also admiring the amazing cake created by Greg's Cakes. Always a few laughs are being gained from the family and friends speeches & with the reception being off into full swing it wasn’t long before the formalities were concluded with the cake cutting dance, captured and finished.
It was such a privilege to capture Dean & Tahni’s special day, no matter how many different people we come across in our jobs, each individual couple represents a special journey we love taking and delivering!
