Nick and Lydia first meet at UQ University approximately 10 years ago now, both studying to be an accountant. It was during this time that they became close, and ultimately developing a beautiful relationship with one another. Over the years, they both had traveled for work and at the end of every day, they still had a loving, caring relationship just like they did the day before.
Meeting Nick & Lydia for their engagement photoshoot session only 2 days prior to their wedding at the UQ university (as it was only fitting to have their engagement photoshoot done there), we walked around the grounds, as they both reminisced about all of the fond memories they had there together. Wildlife stealing their lunch seemed to be at the top of the list!
Chatting about the wedding, and getting to know them a little better we had a great time and created some beautiful images in a place that meant so much to them really was a privilege for J’adore to be apart of.
Both Nick & Lydia now living in Hong Kong together, you could imagine it wouldn’t be very easy planning a wedding from the other side of the world. Luckily for them, a good family friend Kari was able to step in as their wedding planner and organise just about everything! Kari was an absolute delight to converse with during this process and made it all so easy.
Fast forward to their wedding day, Nick & Lydia has invested in the 10hr wedding photo & video package, including a premium wedding album and also the photo booth.
As always, we started to the day with the Groom & his groomsmen, which in this case were all 3 of his brothers. The banter was great and the happy moments were flowing. Not long after we completed the groom prep it was time to head over and see our beautiful bride Lydia. I always get so excited about seeing our brides in their dresses for the first time!! There is just something about it that makes me so happy every time. As expected, she looked AMAZING. Bride prep was a breeze and for the first time in a long time, we were actually ahead of schedule! Which as any wedding photographer would know, is an amazing feeling.
Before long it was time for the ceremony. The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove is famous for its beautiful wide open glass chapel, it’s the sort of wedding chapel a bride will notice and recognise almost instantly. Both Nick & Lydia had selected such a beautiful wedding venue and as always, we were super excited to shoot here.
As most wedding days, they move very quickly. Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding photo & wedding video section part of the day. Having a few hours to do the wedding photography and wedding videography was great!
Moving into the wedding reception which was held in The Grange, it was beautiful to hear everyones heartfelt speeches about Nick & Lydia. You can tell a lot about a couple based off of the speeches at their wedding, and it was very clear to us how amazing they both were as people.
It was truly an honour to be apart of such a special day for Nick & Lydia, we wish them both the very best in their future endeavours.
All the love,
Isla Burkitt
